Pierce (Robert) House is built.

1683

It is located at today’s 24 Oakton Avenue. The house is expanded in 1712 and 1765, further renovated, and occupied by ten generations of the Pierce family, including Col. Samuel Pierce, who participated in the fortification of Dorchester Heights. It is sold by the family to the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities in 1968.
